Walter Zenga accepts the pressure at Wolves
Head coach Walter Zenga gladly accepts the pressure of trying to win promotion with Wolves.
The new Italian boss is armed with the task of moulding a team expected to challenge at least for the top six.
Wolves' minimum requirement under boss Kenny Jackett before being taken over was finishing in the play-offs.
But Fosun's £30million takeover and the arrival of three Portuguese stars – with the promise of more signings to come – will surely raise expectations.
However, it's a pressure that Zenga will embrace, with him saying: "If I don't accept the pressure on me, I don't accept the (job) situation.
"It's normal that everyone wants to win and play in the Premier division. Only three teams go up and we're working, we'll see.
"If you ask me now what do I promise – I promise we win the season? It does not work like this.
"There is a long season, there is something to do quickly and we need to work."
Zenga will look to inspire his still-threadbare squad, which was shown up during Saturday's 4-0 thrashing by Swansea.
It's not yet clear if new signings Helder Costa, Silvio and Joao Texeira will be fit enough to play at Rotherham this weekend.
Pre-season training in Portugal and Spain starts later than in England.
Zenga re-iterated that he would make no guarantees of promotion, knowing that as a head coach his powers were limited.
He said: "I'm a coach – it's a job that is in the hands of other people. I prepare everything and then start the game and the players play, my job is in their hands.
"Only the result can talk of the job that you do. If you're working in the right way, I don't see the problem. Winning is the best way. Who doesn't want to win?"
Zenga has been described as a fiery character by those who have worked with him at other clubs. But he said: "There was another chat with another club."
