Danny Batth: I feel for Wolves fans' trip
Captain Danny Batth reckons Wolves' season has been 'transitional' – as he sympathised with fans who have shunned tonight's trip to Hull City.
Wolves will likely again be backed by an away attendance in the low hundreds as they face their second long jaunt for a televised game on a Friday night in a month.
They took 291 to Middlesbrough in what was their lowest away following since records began and just 322 tickets had been sold for the Hull game as of Tuesday.
Batth thinks it's a 'nightmare' for supporters, saying: "It's just something in the Championship, we're dictated to.
"I appreciate for the fans it must be a nightmare to finish work after a long week, get straight on the motorway, get stuck in traffic and then pay a fortune to watch a game of football.
"It's obviously a lot easier to stay at home and watch it on television potentially and the attendances show that at away fixtures.
"It's a lot to ask fans, money's not easy to come by these days, it's a big commitment to go all that way."
Wolves are confined to another year of Championship football after a difficult season.
Skipper Batth termed the season as 'transitional' and added: "There's periods of the season we've come through that could have gone either way.
"We've stayed resilient to a degree where we're stable in the division. But we know playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers we're expected to do better than that.
"We want to improve and do better."
Batth can see the beginnings of a good team forming ahead of next season, adding: "I think I see a lot of young players that are finding their own way and building their character.
"There's potential there which is promising."
