Kenny Jackett: We are all on the same wavelength

Wolves are lining up their January sales with boss Kenny Jackett insisting both he and the board are on the same page.

With Jackett calling for 'help' and experienced players to help his young side in recent days, there appears to have been a change in tack from the seemingly blanket 'young and hungry' model seen earlier this year.

Either way, Wolves hope to add to their squad in the New Year.

Polish winger Michal Zyro is expected to complete a £350,000 move from Legia Warsaw in the coming days.

And defender Mike Williamson could be in line for a return to the club, with Newcastle United willing to offload the 32-year-old for a nominal fee.

Jackett refused to reveal which positions he was targeting new signings in.

When asked if the board saw the same problems on the pitch that he did, Jackett said: "The board of directors want success as well. Yes, definitely, they do recognise it.

"Plans are in place to do something if possible. The club is up for sale, that is a factor, but my comments and identity of where we need to improve is working off the games we have and speaking and acting honestly and according.

"There is no doubt we're on the same page and want the same thing, which is success.

"We know where we need to strengthen.

"Trying to bring players in in January to help those we have is something we're all focused on."

Jackett, who insisted no club had yet made an inquiry or a bid for Benik Afobe, amid rumours of Norwich City coming back in with a £12m offer, said experience was needed to complement his young players.

"We have a lot of very good prospects at the club but obviously there's always a balance needed," he said.

"If those young players are okay on their own and they can keep coming through from our under-21 system, that's fine, but if at some stage you need to add experience to pull that together, that assessment needs to be made, and that's where I feel we are now."
