Wolves in talks to keep Tomasz Kuszczak
Wolves are in talks with goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak over a new deal - as the club continued their secrecy over fellow shot-stopper Aaron McCarey's failed drugs test.
Chief executive Jez Moxey confirmed talks are under way to keep the 33-year-old former Poland international.
And that's regardless of what happens to third-choice McCarey, who has been banned by the FA for taking a non-performance enhancing substance out of competition.
Moxey confirmed: "It's early days but we are talking to Tomasz about his future with us. We are pleased with what he has done and we are talking to him and his people at the moment."
Wolves are refusing to say what McCarey is alleged to have taken while the FA continue their investigation, or whether they will stand by him.
The 23-year-old former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international was one of three players banned in the space of 24 hours, along with Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore and Sheffield United striker Jose Baxter.
Kuszczak proved an impressive deputy to Carl Ikeme after being signed on a six-month deal in January. He joined the club in November following a successful trial.
The former Albion and Manchester United custodian kept six clean sheets in his 13 appearances, conceding 12 times.
He ended the Championship campaign between the sticks, after first-choice Ikeme suffered a minor knee injury in training.
