Wolves' James Henry eyes title and records ahead of Swindon clash

Wolves stand on the brink of history tonight – but James Henry is eyeing the title.

No team in the club's history has ever won nine games in a row, and victory at Swindon tonight would earn Kenny Jackett's League One promotion-chasers another club record after their best start was followed by an eighth straight victory for the first time since November 1988.

But Henry is looking at the bigger picture and the 24-year-old shares the belief that Wolves can finish top of the pile.

"The record would be nice, but we need to keep building on our play and keep playing well because we still feel we can progress," said the former Millwall winger.

"I think you'd be negative to think we haven't got a chance. Hopefully by the end of the season, we'll have something to celebrate. The ultimate aim is to get this club as high as it can be."

Wolves finally have a shard of daylight with a two-point lead. "There's hardly any daylight – we're just worrying about ourselves at the moment," said Henry. "We're going into every game believing we can win."

Saturday's 3-0 win at Walsall kicked off a spell of nine games in 28 days for Jackett's busy squad. Henry recognises the gruelling sequence is going to test Wolves' squad to the limits. "We've got 13 games left, which is a lot, especially with so many in a short space of time," he said.

"It's a crucial month for us and everyone's going to play a big part. We've got to keep focused and disciplined."

The last time Wolves achieved nine successive wins, Steve Bull scored 10 goals and Andy Mutch five with a goals for and against of 23-5. A quarter of a century on, Nouha Dicko has six and Michael Jacobs five with a difference of 21-1.
