Palace swoop for Wolves shot-stopper Hennessey

Wolves today accepted a £3m bid from Crystal Palace for keeper Wayne Hennessey as Leigh Griffiths prepared to seal his £1m move to Celtic.

Bjorn Sigurdarson is set to seal a loan move back to Norway with Molde.

Shrewsbury-based Hennessey has been out in the cold ever since he refused to play at Gillingham earlier this month after Palace's first bid, believed to be £500,000, was rejected.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper's move means Wolves recoup a major cash influx after sticking by him through his injury hell.

Wales international Hennessey was on a Premier League contract which had 18 months to run and hasn't played for the club since April 2012.

In all he made 166 appearances for Wolves after making his debut in the play-off final against Albion in May 2007.

Griffiths arrived in Glasgow today to agree a medical and contract after the clubs finally agreed a seven-figure fee.

Sigurdarson is set to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's successor Tor Ole Skullerud's first signing as Molde coach.

According to reports in Norway, Molde opted to loan the out-of-favour Sigurdarson so they can use funds that would have paid a fee for his wages.

Molde beat off competition from Sigurdarson's former club Lillestrom, who couldn't finance a deal.

Boss Kenny Jackett today ruled out any more signings – but with Griffiths and Sigurdarson set to seal their exits, that could block the loan departure of Doyle, who is being chased by Middlesbrough, QPR and Reading.

Wolves have signed two strikers in Leon Clarke and Nouha Dicko this month but Jackett is determined not to be caught short.

"We won't be signing any more players this window," said Jackett.

"Our challenge this window has been to re-invigorate our front line.

"I'm not looking to be left short of forwards so I have no options.
