Wolves need to cash in, says Dave Edwards

Dave Edwards today insisted Wolves must cash in on their dominance to stay in the promotion hunt.

The Wales and former Shrewsbury midfielder scored a stunning equaliser to rescue a point for Kenny Jackett's side in a 1-1 draw at Tranmere yesterday.

The point returned Wolves to second place after Leyton Orient's home clash against Bristol City was postponed.

But despite being reduced to 10 men from the 18th minute after Richard Stearman was sent off, Wolves went on to dominate possession after Tranmere midfielder James Wallace saw red a minute before the break for a nasty lunge on Ethan Ebanks-Landell.

"We dominated them but these are games we've got to win," rued Edwards.

"So it was disappointing to only come away with a point.

"In the circumstances, we showed good spirit but you need to claim three points when you're that dominant.

"Tranmere were dogged but we got into that final third a lot of times but that final pass or cross wasn't there or we couldn't carve them open as we'd like.

"We got into some good positions but that final touch let us down."
