James Henry insists there is more to come from Wolves

The on-loan Millwall winger bagged his first Wolves goal in his third man-of-the-match performance in as many league games during last night's 2-0 victory over Oldham.

Hitman Leigh Griffiths bagged the other goal as Wolves moved to within three points of the top spot, with a game in hand. And goalscorer Henry, who is set to complete a £250,000 permanent move on January 1, said: "There's still more to come; I've still got a bit more match fitness to come but I'm really enjoying it. I'm just looking to keep playing games and to keep doing well."

Henry's 50th-minute goal owed something to the treacherous conditions after keeper Mark Oxley spilled Bakary Sako's fiercely-hit cross and the ball hit the wideman before trickling over the line.

"I just made the run and it was a great bit of play from Sako and a great ball," he said. "I wanted to get in position to score, and, although I didn't know too much about it, I was delighted to be off the mark."

Last night's crowd of 15,959 was Molineux's lowest for a league game since September 24, 2000, when 15,105 watched them beat Norwich 4-0.

And the victory was soured somewhat as right-back Matt Doherty pulled his hamstring in the win.

Head coach Kenny Jackett immediately ruled out the 21-year-old for Saturday's trip to Bradford, but it could be a longer absence.

"We've lost Matt Doherty now with a hamstring injury," said Jackett. "It's unfortunate because he's been a very good player for us so far this season."

But he backed Richard Stearman to fill the gap.

He said: "We need to cover those areas as injuries come along when the weather changes, but Richard Stearman is an excellent player to come in."

And, after Wolves narrowed the gap at the top, Jackett added: "Coventry beating Leyton Orient 3-1 puts our result against them on Saturday into perspective.

"We've lost one game in 12 and have had a solid start to keep us in touch at the top."
