Bjorn Sigurdarson wants to be up front for Wolves
Bjorn Sigurdarson today urged Kenny Jackett to unleash him on League One and let him lead Wolves' promotion assault.
The striker wants the chance to fire the side from the front after scoring his first goal of the season.
He netted in Friday's dramatic 2-1 win over Crawley, with Leigh Griffiths scoring an injury-time winner from the spot – just 90 seconds after Billy Clarke levelled for the visitors.
The Icelander has spoken to boss Jackett about his preferred position and, with Kevin Doyle's future still uncertain, wants to start up front.
He said: "I hope I'll get to start more games, but every player is hoping for that. I spoke to the manager a few days ago, and he said he knows I can play wide and as a centre forward, and we're going to find the best place for you.
"I got to start as centre forward, which is my favourite position, and I scored a goal so I enjoyed it. I would prefer to play there, to be honest.
"We have great strikers though, so it's going to be tough to get that spot in the team. Griffiths and Kevin Doyle are both fantastic players and I would like to get the chance to play with both of them – it would be ideal if we could play three up front.
"As a player, it's great to have Kevin in our squad. He's a great player."
