Kevin Foley targets two wins from four for Wolves
Kevin Foley today targeted two wins from their four-match festive programme to put Wolves back on track for a New Year play-off push.
Tomorrow night's televised trip to Blackpool kicks off a spell of four games in 11 days which sees Wolves host Peterborough and Mick McCarthy's Ipswich on Boxing Day and December 29 before a New Year's Day trek to Crystal Palace.
Stale Solbakken's side head into the busy schedule in 18th place and eight points off the play-offs, while they are four places and 10 points off the drop zone.
Foley admitted six-plus points must be the bottom line for Wolves to put them in for a brighter 2013.
The full-back said: "We have four quick games and it would be great to get two or three wins on the board.
"We're in a similar position points-wise away from the play-offs and from relegation so we need to push on now, get a couple of wins and climb the table.
"Hopefully, we are going into a spell where we'll win more than we have been. We have got the players to do it, that's for sure."
Wolves go into the Blackpool game still nursing a sense of injustice after a controversial penalty shaped the 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough last Saturday.
But Foley insisted they can't afford to dwell on that.
He said: "The Middlesbrough game was disappointing but we can't let that detract from the fact we've had three decent performances and won two out of three after an awful run.
"Blackpool like to play football and have also got a new manager in Michael Appleton, so they will be well up for it and we will have to be right on our toes."
Wolves hope for a New Year boost with the return of Jamie O'Hara and Slawomir Peszko in January, while Razak Boukari should be fit by March.
And Foley believes their belated return could be a blessing in disguise.
He said: "We have had players who were looking good and exciting and then been injured like Razak and Peszko."
"So we have not seen the best of them yet but maybe that's a positive for what lies ahead." Jamie is very close now and he's a very good player on the ball.
"So there are positives heading into the second half of the season and we will use them to our advantage."
