Wolves seal Razak Boukari deal for £3m fee

Wolves today completed the £3m signing of Rennes winger Razak Boukari – but say no decision has been made on Bakary Sako after claims a deal had been struck.

Togo international Boukari, who is 25, has signed a four-year deal to become Stale Solbakken's sixth signing to follow Bjorn Sigurdarson, Frank Nouble, Tongo Doumbia, Slawomir Peszko and Georg Margreitter.

Boukari, who was a Rennes team-mate of Doumbia, has joined Wolves after almost being snapped up last week by West Ham, who were in talks with him after stalling on Matt Jarvis. Former France Under-21 cap Boukari, who had three years left on his contract, is a powerful wideman with pace and strength and can operate on either flank.

Seen as a replacement for Jarvis, it was suggested he was arriving on a season-long loan but the club have opted to sign him on a permanent basis.

Reports Wolves have also struck a deal to sign St Etienne midfielder Sako, however, are premature.

The 24-year-old, who is into the final year of his contract, was reportedly at Compton for talks over the weekend.

But sources say no decisions have been made on any more players at the moment.

This comes after the rumour mill went into overdrive yesterday amid claims Wolves were signing Michael Owen.

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle and Manchester United striker's name was discussed by the club as Wolves look to replace Steven Fletcher.

But the 32-year-old ex-England international made it clear he wants to stay in the Premier League.
