Wolves midfielder Karl Henry today signed a four-year contract to pledge his part in the rebuilding of the squad.
The Shropshire Star reported in July that the 29-year-old was in line for a new deal and the midfielder has penned a two-year extension which will take him to 10 years' service and qualify him for a testimonial.
Wolverhampton-born Henry has been at Molineux since June 2006 and agreed a two-and-a-half year extension to his deal in January 2011.
And with Michael Kightly having joined Stoke, Steven Fletcher, Matt Jarvis and Christophe Berra looking to go and Adam Hammill and Nenad Milijas made available, the feeling is that Henry can help bring Wolves stability amid the current unsettling period.
"I think there was some interest from a couple of Premier League clubs but I was happy to commit my future here," said Henry, who has been Stale Solbakken's captain whenever he has played this summer.
"I feel I'm in the best years of my career and hopefully I can do the business for the next four years."
The former Stoke ball-winner has played 232 games for Wolves after a bargain £100,000 switch from the Potteries six years ago.
