Wolves today announced a six-figure shirt sponsorship deal with online home search company whathouse.co.uk
The deal means whathouse.co.uk will appear on the back of home and away shirts next season, under players' numbers, with sportingbet.com continuing as the main sponsor.
Premier League rules prevent sponsorship on the back of team's kits, but such branding is allowed in the Football League, with Leeds and Walsall among the teams to cash in on advertising on the back of their strips last season.
It is believed to be only the second time Wolves have had sponsor's names on the back of their shirts, after then main backers Chaucer had similar branding in the early part of Mick McCarthy's reign.
The whathouse.co.uk branding will not be featuring on shirts to buy, however, as the sponsorship deal was struck after the official replica kits were produced.
As part of the deal, What House, who do a lot of work with Steve Morgan's company Redrow, will have advertising around Molineux, a search function on the official Wolves website corporate sponsorship packages and joint marketing to Wolves supporters and corporate customers.
Daniel Hill, director of Globespan Media, owners of What House, said: "This is a fantastic deal for What House. Wolves have a huge presence and profile in the West Midlands, Shropshire and beyond."
Wolves' head of commercial affairs Paul Lakin said: "We're delighted to welcome What House on board as a very important sponsor with a national reach.
"They're an innovative and growing brand."
