Roger Johnson could be stripped of the Wolves captaincy after his spat with Wayne Hennessey, admitted boss Terry Connor.

Connor was upset at Johnson's public slanging match with the keeper in last Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Bolton and has spoken to them separately to find out if there are any bad feelings between the pair.

The decision to take the armband from Karl Henry and give it to Johnson has sat uneasily all season and it remains an unpopular choice in the dressing room.

Apart from a spell around Christmas, the £4.5m defender's form has been unconvincing and he was disciplined after turning up for training showing the effects of alcohol on March 5. He was also partly at fault for two of Bolton's goals last Saturday after the spat with Hennessey.

Connor admitted he may consider Johnson's merits of leading the team.

"He's captain for the foreseeable future," said Connor.

But, asked if he could revisit his decision or change it, he added: "Yes I could."

Connor spoke to Johnson and Hennessey separately on Monday and is happy there is no bitterness between the pair.
