Wolves were this afternoon handed a timely boost when in-form striker Kevin Doyle was declared fit for Sunday's Premier League visit to Fulham.

Doyle scored the equaliser to cap a fine Wolves comeback in last week's 2-2 draw at Newcastle before withdrawing from Ireland's squad to face Czech Republic in midweek with a tight hamstring.

However, the £6.5m strike ace played a full part in training at Compton today and will travel to London with the rest of the squad.

The news concerning Shrewsbury-born Dave Edwards was less encouraging, though.

The Wales star is suffering from a knee injury and also pulled out of the national squad in midweek. He did not train today and boss Terry Connor will make a late decision on the midfielder.

Connor, meanwhile, today declared he is ready for two major selection dilemmas for the Fulham clash.

Ten-goal top scorer Steven Fletcher and centre-back Sebastien Bassong are fit again after respective virus and hamstring scares to boost Wolves' squad for the trip to the capital.

"Fletcher wasn't fully fit to play last week, so I'll cross that bridge when we come to it," said Connor.

"If it's a difficult decision, I'll make it. Some decisions are tough but it will be given all the due attention and I'll make a decision I feel I'm comfortable with.

"It's nice to have competition for places, it really is."

Connor admits it's been a problem fitting both Doyle and Fletcher into his first-team thinking.

"Maybe the make-up of the squad doesn't really allow that to happen," he said. "Other teams use certain tactics and ways of playing and we have to adapt.

"If you're at the top of the league, you just worry about yourself. Top teams can just say: 'We play this way come what may', or make tactical arrangements for the good of their team, whereas we have to go one against one, if you like."

Connor also has to consider whether to bring back Bassong and Roger Johnson after Richard Stearman and Christophe Berra performed well in the draw on Tyneside that took Wolves out of the bottom three.
