Goal hero Stephen Ward has challenged Wolves to achieve back-to-back wins for the first time this season ahead of tomorrow's crunch clash with West Ham at Upton Park.

Ward scored the goal which earned Wolves a shock 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield - his first in nearly three years - and took their points tally to nine from the last five games.

It enabled Mick McCarthy's side to climb off the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table and push the Hammers back into 20th spot.

Ward said: "If you look at our form, it has improved because we've won three of the last five games.

"Now we need to win two games in a row which we haven't done so far this season.

"We definitely let the fans down against Wigan on Sunday and needed to bounce back.

"There was no better place than Anfield to show them how determined we are and how much it means to us to stay in this league than beating Liverpool."

Ward's previous goal had been against Ipswich in February 2007 but he admitted: "This one was probably the most important moment of my career.

"It's been a long time since I've played up front for any period of time.

"But I always feel I can nick a goal and thankfully it paid off."
