The absence of Jordan Shipley is really hurting Shrewsbury Town.

Jordan Shipley was a threat on the left for Shrewsbury Town until his injury (AMA)

The left-wing-back played such an important role in the team’s success last season on their way to their 12th-placed finish in League One.

He featured 50 times, starting the campaign on the left side of midfield, before dropping deeper after the injury to George Nurse.

The change of position suited him. One thing that is for sure about Shipley is that he is a technically-gifted footballer with a superb left foot.

Perhaps at times defending is not his greatest strength, but what he did do last season was offer a real outlet down the left – something Town are crying out for at this moment in time.

Matt Taylor’s team have now gone 499 minutes without scoring a goal in competitive action, not including time added on.
