Matt Taylor: Huge work gone into new system at Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Town boss Matt Taylor says he has already done ‘a huge amount of work’ on their new 3-5-2 formation in League One for the upcoming season.

The club’s director of football Micky Moore recently spoke of his reluctance to change too much from last campaign after Shrews finished 12th in League One.

And Taylor’s views are aligned with Moore’s as the new boss says he has already given the system a great deal of thought.

“I have done a huge amount of work on it already,” he said. “I totally agree with him (Moore).

“There are slight adaptations we can make to that. Yes, and that is my role alongside the coaches.

“We will need to look at the players that are in the building and the players that we are going to add and if it needs adapting in a slight way.

“A small tweak I am quite comfortable with.

“There are areas that I feel we can be better at.
