The news comes as a cruel blow for the Town defender and is the third time Sam Ricketts’ team have been hit by new FA regulations regarding cautions.

Sadler picked up a yellow card in the first half of yesterday’s 2-2 thriller for fouling Adama Traore.

It is his second of this season’s competition – of which Salop have already played six ties – having also been booked in 1-0 win over Scunthorpe in round two.

The same rules, introduced by the governing body this season, meant Fejiri Okenabirhie missed the first tie against Stoke in the third round, while Ollie Norburn had to sit out the replay.

Ricketts has said he doesn’t agree with the ruling, as lower ranked clubs have more rounds and ties to collect cautions.

Anthony Grant and Greg Docherty, also booked yesterday, have not previously been cautioned in the competition this season.

Town were pegged back in dramatic fashion at Montgomery Waters Meadow as Wolves netted in added time to force a replay.
