Midfielder Greg Docherty wants Shrewsbury to take heart from going toe-to-toe with Sunderland as they prepare to welcome another League One heavyweight tomorrow.
The Scot was named man of the match for his energetic display on his return to the starting XI as John Askey’s men went down 2-0 to the Black Cats.
Barnsley, like Sunderland relegated from the Championship last season, visit Shropshire tomorrow .
“I think we can take from Saturday that we almost matched Sunderland and they’re the biggest team and meant to be the top team in this division,” said the on-loan Rangers man.
“We more than matched them. But uck wasn’t with us and mistakes cost us. But we’ve got to go on to tomorrow, it’s another big game and I’m sure there’ll be another big crowd.”
