West Brom boss Alan Pardew to run the rule over Shrewsbury target Tyler Roberts
West Brom boss Alan Pardew is set to run the rule over Shrewsbury target Tyler Roberts before deciding on his future plans for the youngster.
Roberts is currently on loan at Town’s League One rivals Walsall but his spell is due to end on January 26 with Shrews boss Paul Hurst already registering his interest in taking him back on loan. The 18-year-old forward impressed when helping Shrews secure their League One status last season.
But Pardew is looking at recalling some of his talented youngsters, including Roberts, in order to boost his options having recently brought the likes of Jonathan Leko, Rekeem Harper and Kane Wilson back into training.
“It’s so that I know in January I’m making the right call,” said Pardew. “But it may be an opportunity for them to grab a substitute’s jersey and a first-team place. That’s the message I gave them.”
