Burton, who's only 20 years old has previously represented England at numerous levels, but is yet to be seriously considered for the senior national team.

He's widely regarded as one for the future for England, but Wales have reportedly been keeping an eye on his progress and could try to tempt him into Welsh colours.

The youngster has risen through the ranks at Salop and has drawn comparison to Joe Hart, who also featured for Shrewsbury Town before moving on to Manchester City in 2006.

Burton is able to play for Wales through his father, and his younger brother also stand between the sticks for the country at under-15 level.

Third choice behind Jayson Leutwiler and Mark Halstead, he's only been on the fringes at Shrewsbury and has had loan spells at a number of other clubs in the search for game time.
