The Bucks' National League North relegation clash against local rivals Hednesford Town was called off for a second time, within three weeks after heavy rainfall prior to kick-off.

Rob Smith's side picked up a morale-boosting three points at Stockport County last weekend and a win would have dragged the Bucks within a point of safety.

Fearnall said: "It's a huge blow. We had momentum coming off the back of Saturday with us.

"There was a couple out injured but we were confident with the momentum and confidence that Saturday brought.

"I spoke to (managing director) Lee Carter and we both said that we don't seem to get any luck at the minute and it has been that way for the last two or three months.

"It's a huge blow mentally but we'll pick ourselves up and be fine. It's extra preparation and a few days rest for injured players and we'll go again at Gainsborough, who are struggling for form."

Despite the club calling for supporters to lend a hand in clearing water from the New Bucks Head surface, the game eventually fell foul of the weather at about 6.45pm.

The National League was swept into a storm of controversy on January 2, after the scheduled game was postponed without the presence of an official.

Fearnall claimed last night's surface was significantly worse that that of the previous fixture.

He said: "To be fair to Amy, she gave the fixture every chance. She had a look at it at 6.15pm and said that she'd have another look at 6.45pm and she's done that true to her word.

"It (the pitch) was probably five times worse than it was on the second."

The game has now been rearranged for Tuesday January 26.
