Bucks will ship out 'disruptive' players

AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith has slammed the 'embarrassing disruptive influences' in his squad as a disgrace as the Bucks gear up for crunch time.

Smith's men exited the FA Trophy at the first round stage on Saturday against Chester after a poor first-half performance, although they were much improved after the break.

And the Bucks chief is not willing to let certain members of the squad disrupt their National League North survival attempt, as they prepare to host struggling Lowestoft on Saturday.

He said: "All of those players, who shall not be talked about, can go as far away from this football club as possible as far as I'm concerned. Yes there are (disruptive influences), or at least they're trying to.

"We all know who they are and the other lads aren't interested in them so it's 'cheerio' – stay away from the football club.

"They're a disgrace to themselves and a disgrace to the football club. They don't even want to go and get football, some of them.

"But it's an embarrassment to themselves – not an embarrassment to me.

"The only players that will enter that dressing room against Lowestoft are players that want to be here and I'm telling the supporters there are a lot that want to and we're up for the fight."

Positive Smith still predicted he had seen enough – and knowing the players he has to return from injury and ineligibility – to be confident they can get out of trouble in the league.

They were further boosted by midfielder Jordan Wynter's debut, the former Arsenal academy youngster was a presence throughout.

He added: "I've got about 23 players to pick from this week and the commitment's there and I'm really confident of getting some good results.

"We'll show the commitment to get this club out of the mess we're in. Starting from this week, you'll see a proper, committed performance from us."
