Trio set to return and lift the Bucks

AFC Telford United are set for a triple boost for Saturday's visit of Gainsborough Trinity – including the return of Josh Brizell.

Brizell, Johnny Gorman and Dave Hibbert should all be jostling for selection against the Lincolnshire side.

Former Hyde captain Brizell is yet to make his Bucks debut after being ruled out for eight weeks with a broken wrist following an accident in pre-season training.

Gorman (hamstrings) and Hibbert (groin) have missed the last two games.

Boss Steve Kittrick said: "Josh, Johnny and Dave should be back this weekend.

"The medical people gave Josh the go-ahead to start playing again yesterday, so he will train tonight.

"He's been training for the last month but not with a lot of contact, so it's just a case of how fit he is.

"Dave is 80 per cent there and his physio says he's getting 10 per cent better every day, so he should be ready.

"Johnny isn't far away and should train tonight and be available."

Sean Clancy's chances of being fit for the weekend hang in the balance. The left-back was forced off after just 14 minutes of Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Tamworth with a gashed mouth.

"He's got a gash in his lip by the base of his teeth and the doctor said he couldn't go back on even though he wanted to," said Kittrick.

"I'll find out tonight how bad it is, but I'd imagine he could play with dissolving stitches.

"It was a late tackle and the lad led with his elbow."

Kittrick hopes Clancy will be fit to keep his place but is happy with his replacement at Tamworth, Kyle Brownhill.

"Sean had been playing well so I'm sure he'd want to get back," he said.

"Kyle hasn't played a lot of football in the first four games but he's a confident young man and he'll slot in if Sean isn't available."
