The home side enjoyed the majority of possession and created the better chances but once again could not find the finishing touch.

A single goal from Calum Dyson a quarter of an hour into the National League North match was enough to give Stockport all three points.

The result means Telford have picked up just one point this season and the side will be licking their wounds after wasting some good chances.

Stockport, playing in bright pink, were cheered on by a boisterous fan base and enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges.

Clancy nearly gifted the visitor's an early lead with a woeful back pass but Montgomery reacted quick enough to save clear the danger.

A deflected shot from Joe Gavin also ended up in Montgomery's hands early on as Telford took time to settle into the game.

The home side eventually began to get a foothold on the game and great cross from Izak Reid found the head of Danny Glover just outside the six yard box but his effort missed the target.

Stockport took the lead when a long free kick found Dyson in space, who turned and slotted the ball home from about 15 yards.

Telford responded when Kaiman Anderson was played through on goal, but the goalkeeper saved well.

Debutant Amadou Bakayoko looked lively throughout, with Anderson and Reid also combining well down the right flank.

Captain Sean Clancy had an effort blocked on the opposite wing and Stockport's Joe Garvin was given a yellow card for a late challenge on Glover, but the free kick was well defended.

A great through ball from Clancy found Reid in space, but his shot was blocked for a corner.

Some great footwork from Bakayoko found Glover in space but his effort was blocked for another corner.

O'Hanlon nearly gave Stockport a two goal lead on 37 minutes but Montgomery saved well.

Bakayoko went close again at the other end and weak penalty appeals were waved away, when Anderson went down in the box following a nice pass from the striker.

Bakayoko was nearly through on goal soon after following a huge clearance but the 'keeper came out to collect.

Telford were unlucky to go in at the break one down having had almost all the possession, but Dyson nearly gave Stockport a two goal cushion early in the second-half only to see his effort cleared.

Bakayoko had a great chance to find the equaliser but he rifled a half volley high and wide from all of six yards.

A lively restart saw Clancy fire an effort across the face of goal but Stockport cleared. Clancy then played in Roberts but his shot was saved at the near post.

Roberts saw an effort blocked and then Reid's follow up hit the underside of the cross bar and bounced out.

Stockport also posed a threat when Kayode Odejyai played in Dyson but his effort sailed over the bar with 13 minutes of the second-half played.

Stockport's Karl Ledsham made way for Micah Evans and Lewis Montrose was brought on for Andy Robinson soon after.

Clancy stopped a certain goal when Odejayi steamed through on goal and rounded the goalkeeper, but saw his shot was blocked on the line.

Greg Wilkinson found space but his effort went high over the bar 25 minutes into the second-half.

Telford made a double substitution with Anderson coming off for Danny O'Callaghan, with Glover making way for James McQuilkin.

A strong challenge from Clancy on Evans saw Telford's captain given a yellow card.

Dyson then took the ball round Montgomery but the 'keeper was able to get back and save a weak effort.

O'Callaghan wasted a good chance by sending his cross over the head of Clancy in the box with less than five minutes remaining, which turned out to be Telford last real chance.
