AFC Telford United have taken the wraps off their pre-season programme – with visits from two Championship clubs, including one from Wolves.

Wolves are set to bring an Under-21s team to the New Bucks Head on Tuesday July 28 (7.30pm) after Derby County visit the previous Friday, the 24th (7pm).

League One outfit Walsall are the first of the three Football League teams to travel to Telford, on Tuesday July 21 (7.45pm).

Steve Kittrick's side kick off their preparations for their Conference North campaign in Wolverhampton away to AFC Wulfrunians, who are managed by Telford United favourite Steve Palmer, on Saturday July 18 (3pm).

The warm-up schedule is completed by trips to Rhyl, who play in the Welsh Premier League, and host Telford on Friday July 31 (7.30pm) and Market Drayton Town on Tuesday, August 4 (7.45pm).

Meanwhile, Telford should know today if they have landed the un-named winger they have been chasing for a while.

Kittrick said: "I've told him we need to know today. Hopefully it's good news. He lives in the area – 20 minutes away – which will be far better than all the travelling he's been doing.

"He's a very good player – a positive, dynamic, exciting player with a good pedigree who wants to come here for all the right reasons."

Kittrick has been in talks with the target since before the weekend but has decided the player must make his mind up now.

As he waits on the winger, the Telford chief is insisting he's not panicking despite missing out on a second centre-back target in 24 hours.

The Telford boss said: "They have both decided to go to clubs in the Conference Premier who are playing full-time.

"But I haven't got an issue with that at all. We move on and we'll just have to see what happens and see who comes available.

"We don't need to rush into anything and no panic buttons are being pressed whatsoever.

"There are plenty of lads who are experienced around and we still have plenty of experienced lads here anyway, so I don't see it as a massive problem."
