Godfrey Poku is raring to go after reprieve
AFC Telford United midfielder Godfrey Poku wants to make the most of his red card reprieve by putting Forest Green to the sword.
The enforcer had been facing a five-match ban starting with the trip to the New Lawn Stadium after picking up his third red card of the season against Dartford on Saturday.
Had the ban stood, the 24-year-old would have missed more than a third of his side's remaining 14 games. But an appeal against the dismissal, for an alleged elbow, cleared him of the offence.
He said: "I felt overwhelmed when I heard it had been rescinded because there was no way it was a red card. It just felt really good.
"I would have been very disappointed if it hadn't. When I was coming off the pitch I felt that it was nowhere near a red card so I am very happy to be back.
"I was very down about it but very confident in the appeal and I just can't wait to play the game tomorrow now. I just hope we can get out of this trouble that we are in."
Telford visit Gloucestershire tomorrow aiming to climb off the bottom of the Conference Premier and cut a nine-point gap to safety.
Despite last weekend's agonising 3-2 defeat, Poku is adamant that the Bucks can still avoid relegation.
He said: "We didn't deserve to lose last weekend but we have still got a chance of surviving.
"We probably need at least six wins from our remaining games but we feel that we can get out of it and (the fightback) starts on Saturday against Forest Green.
"We have got nothing to fear and if we can go there and perform like we did at Wrexham, where we won 4-0 last month, then we have got every chance of getting three points."
Telford have yet to lose away from home in the league under manager Steve Kittrick, having beaten Wrexham and Aldershot and drawn with Nuneaton and Eastleigh.
Poku said: "That will give us confidence, but we have to go there and start well, on the front foot.
"We have got players that can score goals and, with Ian Sharps at the back, we have got a real leader in defence."
