AFC Telford made late bid for a defender
AFC Telford were working hard to try and sign an experienced defender before the January transfer window slammed shut.
Boss Steve Kittrick was burning the late-night oil as he looked to add a centre-half to his squad on loan.
The club were hopeful of completing the switch before the deadline, but had a fall-back option with the emergency loan window opening on Monday.
Telford are in action tonight when they will take on Birmingham City in a friendly at the New Bucks Head and Kittrick has confirmed he plans to field a strong side.
The Bucks were left without a league game on Saturday after their clash at Grimsby Town was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
"With us having not played on Saturday, I have got to keep some momentum going," Kittrick said.
"Tonight I will probably start with the players that I was going to start with on Saturday.
"If we are going to change it it will be the odd one or two, it won't be wholesale.
"I am not going to give people 10 minutes or 15 minutes. I want them to have a good session. We have got to use the match to prepare for the Eastleigh game."
Among those who could be given a run out are vice-captain Sean Clancy who had been expected to make his return to the squad at Blundell Park on Saturday, before the weather intervened.
Clancy has not played since breaking his collarbone and ribs in November .
Kittrick will also cast an eye over the opposition tonight with a view to identifying any potential loan targets.
Admission to the game, which starts at 7pm, will be £4 adults and £2 U-16s.
