Liam Watson targets 10 wins for AFC Telford
Manager Liam Watson believes 10 wins from their last 23 league games will keep AFC Telford United in the Conference Premier.
And he has challenged his FA Cup heroes to kick-start a season-saving run at home to fellow strugglers Welling tonight.
The Bucks, who on Sunday pushed League One leaders Bristol City close to a replay in the FA Cup, are nine points adrift of safety with just three league victories.
And with half of the league campaign now gone, Watson said: "We need probably 10 wins and a scattering of draws, so that is what we will be trying to do.
"And if we put in 23 performances like we did on Sunday we will pick that up. We need to hit a run like we did this time last year."
Last December the Bucks, who were in the Conference North, went six games unbeaten in December and early January.
And defeat to Barrow on January 18 was followed by an 11-game undefeated streak which included eight wins to help them close in on promotion.
Reproducing such form in the division above will be that much harder, but Watson said: "We just need to keep believing and play for the team."
Watson admitted he will need to make changes to the starting line-up for tonight's match after the exertions of Sunday.
And he says he has learned from his mistakes after Telford suffered a major Cup hangover against Braintree last month.
Watson had played 4-4-2 four days earlier as the Bucks beat Basingstoke in a gruelling FA Cup first-round replay.
He then kept faith with the same formation for the first half of the league meeting with The Iron, but afterwards conceded he had picked the wrong team and shape following a 3-1 defeat.
Asked if he would have to make changes this evening, he said: "It would just be stupid not to. I have got to learn from my mistakes, which I will do."
