Liam Watson has designs on Trophy progress for AFC Telford
AFC Telford boss Liam Watson is urging his players to think big in the FA Trophy this season.
The Bucks have been handed a home tie in the first round of the competition against fellow Conference Premier side Chester.
And Watson, whose team face the Blues away in the Conference tonight, said: "You have got every chance in the FA Trophy of actually going all the way because you are only playing teams in your own league and below.
"And we have shown we can compete with the teams at the top end of the Conference Premier."
Watson is delighted to have home advantage for the match, which will take place on December 13.
The Bucks, who will head to Bristol City in the FA Cup second round on Sunday, have been drawn away in the previous two rounds of the Trophy.
Watson said: "It will be a really tough game against Chester, but I am glad we are at home.
"Both clubs will be looking at it as a good chance to get through, but we have had a fair amount of away draws so I am happy."
Victory in the FA Trophy first round carries a reward of £5,000 and the Bucks will be aiming to give the club a boost both on and off the field with victory over Chester.
Telford bosses have been working hard this season to increase both Supporters Trust membership and club revenue.
And they have unveiled a new membership scheme for the Supporters Trust which was voted in at the club's AGM on Saturday.
The scheme, which was voted in by a margin of 112-3, allows supporters to become members for a minimum £2 payment.
The Bucks are hoping to treble membership and progress on that front is one of several topics which will be addressed in a special meeting to be held in May 2015.
Improved communication with all supporters, renewed fundraising efforts and the current fans-owned model of ownership will also be up for discussion.
The AGM also featured the results of a ballot to elect four members to the trust board which saw Luke Fearnall, Steve Bowyer, Mick Tranter and Ian Tyrer top the poll.
