Liam Watson prepares AFC Telford for a battle
AFC Telford United manager Liam Watson insists his team will stand up and go to-to-toe when they bid to upset high-flying Woking tomorrow.
The Bucks, currently bottom of the Conference Premier, will meet an in-form Cards side sitting just three points and one place off the division's summit.
But Watson's side will be determined to take Woking out of their comfort zone at the Kingfield Stadium.
And the Bucks chief has warned his team will not just sit back and defend against their more fancied opponents, as they hunt a second league win of the season.
He said: "It will be a really tough game if we let them play. I think we have got to try to press them, play on the front foot, and just be very honest and committed."
Watson's back room team have certainly done their homework on the opposition and the Bucks will be well-informed about the Cards' biggest threats, headed by 12-goal top-scorer Scott Rendall.
He said: "I have got two reports from two separate people and on both of them they have said that Woking are the best Conference side they have seen this season.
"They have got Scott Rendall, they have got Keiran Murtagh, who is a good footballer, and Jack Marriott, who is on loan from Ipswich, is lively.
"Everywhere I look there is proven quality, they are a good squad."
But Watson, whose side have already taken points of promotion contenders Barnet and Torquay this season, is adamant his team will not be intimidated by their opponents.
He said: "We have done better against the likes of Torquay and Barnet this season and that is what we will tell the players before the game."
Watson has a decision to make regarding whether Jonathan Hedge keeps goal, with new signing Freddy Hall pushing for a start.
