Chris Lever headed over from two inviting positions in the opening half hour, while Godfrey Poku and Sean Clancy also went close with decent efforts from the edge of the box.

But the rain-soaked conditions hampered both sides and a stalemate looked the likely half time score until Phenix pounced on 43 minutes.

He turned home from close range after Steve Akrigg had headed on Clancy's cross, for his third goal in as many games.

And Sam Smith doubled their lead in stoppage time with a rasping drive from the edge of the area which beat goalkeeper Nick Culkin at the near post.

Smith should have made it 3-0 midway through the second-half, but could only head wide from close range after Adam Farrell had put him in at the far post.

Tom Greaves missed a great chance to halve the deficit with 20 minutes left but completely miscued his close range effort with just Hedge to beat.

Telford could have won by more though when Tony Gray hooked over from close range late on.
