The manager is swooping to add another midfielder to his squad following Tuesday's arrival of Jordan Deacey, with the deal likely to be completed later this evening.

In a further boost, Watson is also poised to bring in a replacement for player-coach Alan Moogan, who left the club earlier this week.

The manager has been keen to bolster the depth of his midfield resources and admits the imminent deals will not be the last this summer.

"We lost a couple of people with 'Moogs' moving on and Russell Benjamin before, so there was room to bring a couple in," he said.

"The player I'm looking to bring in is a bit of an under-the-radar signing and will be good for us.

"After that I think there is still space for another to come in."

Deacey, who signed a one-year deal on Tuesday night, boosted the size of Watson's squad to 19. And the while the manager is far from calling time on his forays into the market he believes the club is in a strong position with more than a month to go until the campaign.

"It's now down to a little bit of fine tuning," he said. "It's a great position to be in with so many players on board at this stage of pre-season, now we have just got to see where we get to and how we get on. There will still be the odd one or two to come in I would expect."

n Watson has backed Adam Farrell to make the step up and score goals in the Skrill Conference, after the striker penned a new two-year deal earlier this week.

Farrell hit 17 goals last season as the Bucks won the Skrill North division.

"We see him as a bit of an asset and were keen to get him on a longer deal," said Watson. "You look in terms of people taking their chances and you have to be given the opportunity to play at a higher level.

"Now we are stepping up it will be interesting to see how he handles it."
