AFC Telford United striker Adam Farrell today revealed he's ready and willing to sign a new contract to keep him at the New Bucks Head long-term.

The just-gone season's top scorer netted 17 goals in his debut season at the level, as the Bucks were crowned Skrill Conference North champions.

The 24-year-old joined from AFC Fylde last summer on a one-year deal with an option for a second in the club's favour, which Telford will take up.

But manager Liam Watson announced earlier this month his intentions to tie down the forward to fresh terms, with a two-year contract in the offing.

Farrell has been made aware by the Bucks boss and is waiting to sit down and thrash out the details, ahead of his step up to Conference Premier.

He said: "Liam had a word with me the other week, so I am just waiting for him to finalise everything. Hopefully, we can get the contract signed.

"I would love to stay at the club for as long as possible. I am glad they want to keep me and I just want to keep banging those goals in.

"Hopefully, we can kick on again this season and perhaps even go for promotion again down the line. I can't wait to get started."

Farrell has climbed three divisions since starting out at Chorley in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One.

He was thrust in the Telford team and played a part in every league game during the season, second only to goalkeeper Ryan Young.

Farrell said: "I was happy with my performances throughout the season, it was all new to me being a big club but I feel like I have settled in now.

"After I got a few starts under my belt, I got used to the level and the gaffer has told me that my game might be better suited to the Premier.

"I am confident I can do it. I just want to keep my progressing, do my best for Telford and play as high as I can."

Young, meanwhile, has signed for Skrill Conference South side Havant & Waterlooville. The 34-year-old cut his ties with Telford this month after seven years with the Bucks, making 367 appearances.
