AFC Telford United boss Liam Watson was today hoping to complete two new signings as he prepares for life back in the Skrill Conference Premier next season.

The Bucks chief has spoken of the need to bring in eight players to bolster his promotion-winning side, which topped the Skrill North by three points ahead of North Ferriby United last month.

And he said today: "I am hoping to sign a central defender and a winger. Both in effect have agreed terms so it is just a case of trying to get the signatures done tonight."

He added that he is also making progress on other fronts and he is targeting two strikers, a goalkeeper, a left-back, a central midfielder and another centre-back in the coming weeks to add to his squad for the forthcoming campaign.

Watson is hoping to conclude his transfer activity as quickly as possible this summer and he said that the latest developments would mark a significant step towards that goal.

He said: "That will be 25 percent of the recruitment for next season done in one day. I don't want to be going into the last couple of weeks of pre-season still looking."
