AFC Telford boss planning a squad shake up
AFC Telford United duo Charlie Barnett and Tony Gray will go back into the squad for tomorrow's Skrill Conference North trip to Colwyn Bay.
The Bucks pair were left out of the 16-man party that travelled to play Oxford City on Tuesday night, which resulted in a surprise 2-0 defeat.
But Watson insists they were only omitted with the playing surface at Marsh Lane in mind, which was cited as a major hindrance in the loss.
Right-back Wes Baynes should also be back for Telford after two games out with a knee injury, meaning that James Smith may not be needed.
The on-loan Southport defender debuted at City for Chris Lever, who hurt his ankle filling in for the 3-1 win at home to Altrincham last weekend.
Centre-back Dan Preston is still available despite a red card in the City game, as his one-game suspension doesn't start for two weeks after the dismissal.
He could drop to the bench, anyway, particularly if Watson decides to revert to 4-4-2 at Llanelian Road, having previously played with three centre-halves.
He said: "Sometimes you just need to freshen up it and, with where I am coming from, we might have a little change of shape for tomorrow.
"Tony Gray and Charlie Barnett will be involved, as I left them out of the squad because I know what sort of pitch we were going to.
"I made the right decision, because they certainly wouldn't have been able to get the ball down and pass it."
Three points are regarded as an absolute must for Telford, who lead the league by a point with second-placed North Ferriby United at Alty.
The Villagers have a game in hand, too, so any chance to make up ground at 10th-placed Bay may need to be gobbled up by Watson's side.
He said: "I just don't think league positions are any kind of issue, at the minute, you have got teams scrapping for all sorts of reasons now.
"Some are fighting for their lives, other are chasing titles and the rest are just playing with total freedom, so there's no easy fixture.
"Two points a game from now to the end of the season would put us there or thereabouts, but we are looking to win all four games.
"We just need a reaction from the players where they go to Colwyn Bay and get a good result."
