Injured Alan Moogan still managing to impress at AFC Telford
AFC Telford United player-coach Alan Moogan has been tipped to have a big role from the sidelines – and defender Chris Lever predicts he could even become a manager.
Moogan has already missed seven games and could be out for up to another two months after he has surgery on his injured groin, where he is awaiting an operation date.
But the midfielder is still in and among the squad through his role on manager Liam Watson's back-room staff and has been helping his team-mates prepare for each game.
The 29-year-old is a long way from hanging up his boots but Lever believes he's a manager in the making, after watching his abilities off the field in recent weeks.
He said: "His experience and coaching is second to none and he's taken a couple of sessions already, it just comes natural to him.
"I think he will definitely be a manager one day, he would be great at it.
"It certainly wouldn't surprise me."
The 26-year-old played alongside Moogan at Southport for three years before both came to the New Bucks Head in the summer.
