AFC Telford boss Liam Watson hopes for better day at Bradford

AFC Telford United manager Liam Watson is hoping Bradford Park Avenue proves more of a happy hunting ground tomorrow than the one and only time he has visited before.

Watson took his Southport side to the Horsfall Stadium in February 2005 with most expecting the visitors run riot, as they were storming towards the Conference North title.

The league was in its first season and Watson's side were within 90 minutes of breaking a club record for consecutive wins, going to the bottom club in the division.

Avenue had other ideas – stunning their visitors 3-1 and costing Watson his place in the record books, so the now-Telford boss is hoping for better luck this time.

He said: "I have actually only ever been to Bradford Park Avenue once – and didn't enjoy the afternoon!

"Had we won, it would have broken the club record for consecutive wins, we were second in the league and had won 5-0 at Kettering the week before.

"Bradford were bottom of the table and were relegated that season. After 20 minutes, we were 3-0 down."

The Bucks chief has hinted he could name an unchanged side tomorrow and all 16 in the squad are set to adopt the same positions in a 5-3-2 formation.
