AFC Telford's Martyn Jackson set for Stafford Rangers loan deal
AFC Telford United midfielder Martyn Jackson was today on the verge of joining Stafford Rangers on a month's loan to further his first-team education.
Bucks boss Liam Watson has expressed for weeks his desire to get the former Manchester United youngster a sustained run of games at another club.
A team in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League was preferred and Rangers, who are currently bottom of that division, have made the call.
Jackson made his Skrill Conference North debut for Telford as an 80th minute substitute in Bank Holiday Monday's 1-1 draw at home to Solihull Moors.
But the 19-year-old's previous first-team experience came at North West Counties level, so his manager believes a spell in non-league's third tier will benefit.
Watson said: "Martyn is possibly going to Stafford Rangers, I would say that one is probably about 75 per cent down the line. I think it's a good move for him.
"I expect him to join them for training tonight rather than us. It's one we needed to sort out for him. This experience will benefit him."
Watson is also hoping to send midfielder Jake Bennett out on loan to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division One South side Chasetown.
