Sean Cooke simmers on sidelines for AFC Telford
AFC Telford winger Sean Cooke has found his time on the sidelines in pre-season among the most frustrating of his short career.
The 20-year-old, who joined the Bucks from AFC Fylde in the close season, is on the mend from a fractured leg which he suffered at the end of last season.
And he is aiming to be back in first team contention in a month's time, having made good progress in recent weeks.
But he has found it difficult to sit by while his team-mates have been getting valuable game-time in pre-season games against Shawbury United, Market Drayton, Conwy Borough and Kidderminster Harriers.
"This is the longest I have ever been out injured," he said. "The longest I was out before was a month, and that was about three years ago.
"It is very frustrating and when I see all the lads playing. I just wish I could on and have a game as well. But I don't want to rush myself because I could just break down again.
"I am not training with the team yet but I have got my base fitness from going on the bike and from swimming over the last three or four weeks. I have just got to work on my turning and jumping, strengthening the muscle up. Hopefully I will be back in three-four weeks."
