AFC Telford 3-0 Shawbury - match report
AFC TELFORD got their pre-season fixtures off to a confident start with a 3-0 home win over Shawbury United in the Shropshire Senior Cup.
Midfielder Nathan Rooney got Telford off the mark with a tidy finish after five minutes.
And Adam Farrell made it 2-0 after rounding Shawbury keeper Nicholas Ashley with 26 minutes gone.
Sean Clancy made it 3-0 just before half time from the penalty spot after Andy Owens had been fouled in the box.
Bucks goalkeeper Ryan Young did well to deny Stuart Ellis from close range three minutes after the break
Marc Stallard then nodded wide from an inviting opening soon afterwards but the Bucks went close through Wes Baynes and Tony Gray, who both fired just over.
Telford will now play Market Drayton Town in the semi-final on Monday.
