Bucks boss Liam Watson spotted the central midfielder during a game arranged by an agent in Nantwich during the close season.

He was sufficiently impressed with the 19-year-old to take a further look at him and the player joined the Bucks for training on Thursday night.

And Jackson could also be set for a run out in Tuesday's Shropshire Senior Cup quarter-final against Shawbury United.

"He was at Manchester United for five years as a youngster and then Burnley for one year," said Watson.

"He got released some way through last season and he has just been playing North West Counties football since.

"I went to watch a game which was put on by an agent a couple of weeks ago and he was always on the ball.

"He has got some good qualities. I will probably have a look at him on Tuesday."

Watson is keen to add at least one more midfielder to his squad as well as a utility player in the coming weeks.

The Bucks are known to be keen on taking Mansfield midfielder Godfrey Poku on loan for the season although that deal has yet to come to fruition.

But Watson is also taking a look at a number of other potential first team additions including out of contract midfielder Nathan Rooney, youth team graduates James O'Neill and Tom Bradley and second year youth team player Jake Bennett.
