AFC Telford bring in Andy Pryce in a dual role
AFC?Telford have moved to sign former Market Drayton Town goalkeeper Andy Pryce as emergency cover for first choice Ryan Young for next season.
Pryce is one of two additions brought in to bolster manager Liam Watson's backroom staff yesterday.
He comes along with ex-Southport physio Chris Roberts joining ahead of the Blue Square Bet North campaign.
The custodian has been brought in primarily as a goalkeeper coach but he has also signed registration forms, enabling him to deputise for Young should it be required.
The experienced shot-stopper has played for Telford before, making a handful of appearances for the club in 2004 and 2005.
He has also been acquiring coaching qualifications and he has spent the last couple of seasons coaching young goalkeepers in the Bucks' youth team.
Pryce will replace previous goalkeeping coach Darryl Smith, who left last week.
Previous physio Rudy Farquharson departed the club at the same time and Roberts' arrival will fill that vacancy.
During his time at Haig Avenue, Roberts developed an excellent working relationship with both management and players.
And Watson said: "He is as good as anyone I have worked with. I am delighted he's come in."
Meanwhile, Watson's work to bring in midfield reinforcements is continuing this week. He hopes to have two, if not three new players, signed in the coming days.
Mansfield midfielder Godfrey Poku is one of the trio being targeted by Watson and Morley.
Discussions have been held with the player over the last weekend to try to reach a deal for a season-long loan.
