Liam Watson catching on with AFC Telford fans
AFC Telford United chairman Lee Carter today hailed the impact of new manager Liam Watson and a host of exciting signings for driving up season ticket sales.
The Bucks have announced that they are on course to beat last year's season ticket sales figures, despite suffering relegation from the non-league top flight in April.
With almost two months left until the start of the 2013-14 campaign, sales have already exceeded 500.
The club shifted 524 season tickets overall last season, meaning it is on course to beat that target.
Telford have significantly reduced prices for both Early Bird season tickets and gate admissions, which may well have had an influence on the figures.
But Carter said the arrival of Watson at the start of May and the resultant overhaul of last season's mis-firing squad have had a significant effect.
He said: "Without a doubt it has had an impact. The turn around in atmosphere has been absolutely phenomenal.
"People are looking forward to seeing the team, they are looking forward to pre-season.
"The board are delighted that the fans have responded very positively.
"But we will still be working hard on promoting tickets and ensuring that we build on the momentum generated by the appointment of Liam and the recruitment of some excellent players to date."
The club are also set to release tickets for blocks of 10 games sale once the fixtures have been announced early next month.
