The odds are against the basement Bucks, who face promotion-chasing Mansfield at Filed Mill tomorrow after a wretched run of form.

Their last victory was way back on October 9 at Dartford and they find themselves four points adrift of fifth frombottom Gateshead and have played five games more.

"It's a difficult situation and 21 (league) games without a win is something I've not experienced before in football," admitted Hyde. "But we will keep pegging away.

"I've been here for 10 games and, while there have been disappointments and the players have made mistakes, they have also applied themselves.

"You can look it as either a daunting prospect or one that you say 'Let's turn up and give it a go'."

Former Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham midfielder Hyde arrived at the club when Andy Sinton's former assistant Mike Davies left to concentrate on his sportswear business at the turn of the year.

The 42-year-old managed Redditch United during the 2010/2011 campaign and served as assistant manager and caretaker manager at Boston United last year. He will be assisted by coach John Psaras.
