Richard Brodie's strike just after half time was enough to condemn AFC Telford to defeat at league leaders Grimsby Town.

Telford included three of their four new signings in the starting line-up and they started brightly at Blundell Park with Steve Jones curling wide after 12 minutes.

But Ryan Young had to be alert to deny Andy Cook and Marcus Marshall at the other end shortly afterwards.

The Bucks had done a good job of containing the hosts for the first 45 minutes but Brodie netted from a ball over the top three minutes after the interval.

Phil Trainer went closest to an equaliser for the Bucks midway through the half but Cook headed wide for the hosts late on.

Defeat keeps Telford in the relegation zone and they are now winless in 18 league games.
