AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton has signed Richard Peniket on loan from Premier League side Fulham ahead of the Bucks' trip to Kidderminster Harriers.

The 19-year old forward, who will join Telford for an initial month, will go straight into the squad for the trip to Aggborough tonight.

Peniket, who will take the squad number 16, has previously spent time on loan at fellow Blue Square Premier League sides Hereford United as well as tonight's opponents Kidderminster.

Sinton has been working hard for much of January trying to bolster his attack and is also close to bringing in another potential goalscorer.

A club statement said: "The Bucks were also close to securing the loan signing of another centre forward. However, he has since decided to take more time to consider the offer."

Stourbridge-born Peniket, a Wales Under-21 international, has yet to make his first-team debut for Fulham but has experience of the lower leagues.

He played seven times for Hereford in League Two last season and followed it up with 11 appearances for Harriers earlier this season, albeit without finding the net, before being recalled to Craven Cottage in November.

Peniket arrives at the New Bucks Head just days after the departure of Kieron St Aimie, who left the club by mutual consent to be closer to his family.

He has since joined Ryman League outfit Whitehawk FC. Sinton said the player's departure had come about very quickly but added: "We wish him well.

"He is a good kid. He hasn't caused one ounce of bother and has trained with a smile on his face."

He added that St Aimie made an important contribution to the Bucks' good start to the season, in which he netted five goals in August and September.

Meanwhile, Sinton is due to speak to Fleetwood Town tomorrow about the possibility of extending midfielder Gerard Kinsella's loan spell until the end of the season.
