And the Bucks chief is hopeful of adding two new players to his squad in time for Tuesday's Blue Square Premier trip to Kidderminster Harriers.

He told supporters at a fans' forum last night: "If something comes off over the weekend, I think you will be quite excited."

And regarding the team's style of play he added: "We are going to have to be in teams' faces and get lots of crosses into the box.

"Hopefully, I will sign someone in the next couple of days who can finish them off."

After the event he added: "We are close. We have got to start being a little bit more creative and getting someone who can get on the end of chances.

"That costs more money but we are working on it and hopefully we will be close.

"By Kidderminster hopefully we will have two new players."

Sinton was also asked about the club's recruitment policy, particularly the lack of players brought in from divisions below non-league's top tier.

And the manager admitted that the scouting network needed improving but confirmed that the club has looked at many player from the lower leagues in the last year or so.

Former King's Lynn winger Steve Spriggs, now of Boston United, was just one of several names mentioned.

Chairman Lee Carter were also asked about the club's financial situation and the challenges involved in eventually becoming a full-time team.

The club made a loss for the first time in its eight-year history last season, but Carter insisted everyone was working hard to get to a break even position.

He also estimated that the turnover required to sustain full-time football would be around £2million and the club would need attendances of 3,500 to 4,000 per game.

But he re-iterated the club's ultimate goal of achieving league football and said: "If you stop talking and stop dreaming of league football then what's the point?

"We may as well go back to the lower leagues."
