The Bucks are understood have spoken to the prolific forward, who is currently playing six divisions below the Blue Square Bet Premier League.

Hodge has scored more than 30 goals in West Midlands League Division One since October and has also been attracting interest from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South side Market Drayton.

Two unnamed Welsh sides are also in the hunt, Haughmond have claimed, after the Shrewsbury-based club made the announcement on their Twitter page.

It stated: "We have received interest about the availability of Nathan Hodge from AFC Telford United, Market Drayton Town and two unnamed Welsh sides."

The club's joint-manager Mark Jenks added: "The other clubs have put in phone calls. Telford have spoken to Nathan but no offer has been made."

Hodge has been in prolific form for Haughmond this season and Jenks believes that, should a move up the football ladder come off, it would reflect well on both player and club.

Jenks said: "It would be brilliant for the profile of the player and the club if players are going in that direction."
